Jonathan Pascoal is a performer, composer, and educator in the GTA who has been a musician for 12 years, providing entertainment for spectators, events, and gatherings. Being a self-taught musician at a young age, his passion for music led him to pursue an education at “Mohawk College & University of Toronto” by 2020. While completing his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance, Jonathan had the opportunity to study with many prominent artists in Ontario, allowing him to expand his knowledge of Jazz, Cuban, Brazilian, and West African musical tradition and performance.
Throughout his musical career, Jonathan has played a variety of styles of music in numerous bands. From being part of a symphony orchestra, a big band, various Brazilian ensembles, and numerous smaller ensembles in many styles, the diversity in playing experience has only been a benefit to his teaching ability. While having the capability to teach all ages, Jonathan focuses on motivating students to continue their passion for music and to develop their own musicality along the way. “
